Let the CP be x.

according to the question,

x(1-10/100)+54=x(1+8/100)

90x/100+54=108x/100

54=108x/100 - 90x/100

54=18x/100

x=54*100/18=300

therefore CP=300

SP=Cp - loss

=300(1-10/100)

=300*90/100

=270 Rs

SP = 90% of 500/3 or Rs.150/-

or

s.p =115.

CP=100 sp=100–10=90.

add 25 the gain will be 5% so 90+25=115
