★ Define Ecosystems.

\huge{\purple{\underline{\red{\mathscr{Answer}}}}}

An ecosystem can be defined as a self-contained unit that consists of all living and non-living things in a particular area and their interaction with each other. Some examples of ecosystems are ponds, forests and grasslands. An ecosystem can be natural or artificial. A pond is a natural ecosystem while an aquarium is a manmade ecosystem.

★ Types :-

  • Terrestrial ecosystems : include mainly forests, deserts and grasslands.

  • Aquatic ecosystems : include pond and river ecosystems. They are the smallest ecosystems.

  • Marine ecosystems : include shallow water, deep water, warm water (pacific) and cold water.
