=> Let b be the base and h be the height

=> A = 1/2 (b) (h)

=> Height decreased by the 40%

=> New height = 0.6 h

=> Base increased by 40%

=> New base = 1.4 b

=> New area = 1/2 (1.4b) (0.6 h) = 0.84 × = 0.84.A

:- The area is reduced by 16%

I hope this will help you dear..
