 \huge \colorbox{cyan}{Solution}

The length of aquarium =l=80cm

Width of aquarium =b=30cm

Height of the aquarium= h = 40 cm

Area of the base = 1 x b = 80 ×30 = 2400 cm

Area of the side face=b×h = 30 ×40 = 1200 cm

Area of the back face = 1× h = 80 ×40 = 3200 cm

Required area = Area of the base + area of the back face

+ (2 x area of a side face)

= 2400 + 3200 + (2 x 1200) = 8000 cm

Hence the area of the coloured paper required is

8000 cm².

Given :

  • length, l = 80 cm
  • breath, b = 30 cm
  • height, h = 40 cm

To Find :

  • find the area of the paper needed ?

Solution :

area of base = l × b

= 80 × 30

= 2400 cm²

area of side faces = 2( b × h)

= 2(30 × 40)

= 2 × 1200

= 2400 cm²

area of back faces = l × h

= 80 × 40

= 3200 cm²

so, total area of paper needed = base area + area of side faces + area of back faces

➪ total area = 2400 + 2400 + 3200

= 8000 cm²

so, 8000 cm² coloured paper is required to.
