Green algae are also called chlorophyceae. They are green coloured because of pigments chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b. Their pigments are located in chloroplasts which have a variety of shapes like discoid, spiral and ribbon shaped.

Examples are Spirogyra, chlamydomonas, chlorella, ulothrix.

Hope this helps you ☺️
