Given :-

  • Length of tile = 12 cm
  • breadth of tile = 6 cm
  • Length of rectangle = 96 cm
  • breadth of rectangle = 39 cm

To Find :-

  • number of tiles required to fit in a rectangular field ?

Solution :-

we know that,

 \boxed{ \orange{ \bold{area \: of \: rectangle = l \times b}}}

  \bold{: \implies area \: of \: tile = 12 \times 6 } \\  \\  \bold{: \implies 72 \:  {cm}^{2} }  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

so, area of one tile is 72 cm²

now,

 \bold{:  \implies area \: of \: field = 96 \times 39} \\  \\  \bold{: \implies 3744 \:  {cm}^{2}  } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

so, area of the rectangular field is 3744 cm²

then,

   \boxed{\bold{ no. \: of \: tiles =  \frac{area \: of \: field}{area \: of \: one \: tile} }} \\

 \bold{:  \implies \cancel  \frac{3744}{72} } \\  \\  \bold{: \implies 52  } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

hence, 52 tiles are required to fit the rectangular field
