Area is given = 240

A/Q, 1/2x (24+36) x H = 240

1/2x 60 x H = 240

30 xH= 240

H 240/30 8

The distance between them = 8 cm

AB² =AC² +BC²

so ∴24² =AC² +18²

or AC² =576−324

or AC² =252

therefore the stake may be placed at a distance of 6√7 m from the base of pole
