Refractive index of glass is 2.0 and that of water is 1.0 if the speed of light in water is 2.5×
m/s what is the speed of light in a glass.

We know,
Refractive index of a medium = speed of light in air/speed of light in the medium
Refractive index = c/v
We have been given,
c = 2.5*10^8*1
Refractive index of medium = 2.0
Putting in the required values,
2.0*V = 2.5*10^8
V = 1.25*10^8
So speed of light in glass = 1.25*10^8
In these types of questions always remember to use formula relatively and step by step so to get a proper picture of the question.
In the above question, you can clearly observe that we only need a small formula to tackle the problem but interpretation of the question was extremely important.
