Constitution of India. Protection of life and personal liberty. No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law.

1) Article 21-A and the RTE Act came into effect on 1 April 2010. The title of the RTE Act incorporates the words 'free and compulsory'.

2) Fundamental rights are protected under the charter of rights in the Constitution of India. Article 21 talks about equality before the law, freedom of speech and expression, religious and cultural freedom, etc. Article 21 is valid for every citizen of India. It is also valid for foreign citizens.

3) Protection of life and personal liberty. No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law.
