Question:

What is the ratio of -

a) numbers of even number to odd number from the set of natural numbers from 30 to 50

b) prime numbers and composite numbers from the set of natural numbers from 1 to 20

Solution :

a)

As we know ,

It is asked that we need to form the set of natural numbers from 39 to 50.

30+50 = 80

We can also say ,

32+48= 80.And so on... it result will be 80x5= 440

And the odd number,

Like,

31+40= 80.

33+47= 80

It also result will be 400

Odd : Even

= 440:400

We can simplify it like , 11:10.

b)

The prime numbers from the set of natural numbers from 1 to 20 are : 2,3,57,11,13, 17,19

The composite numbers from the set of natural numbers from 1 to 20 are : 4,6,8,9,10,12,14,15,16,18,20

Additional Information:

  • The even numbers are the numbers ending from 0,2,4,6,8,10,12...etc. For example : 14, 18,28,88 are the even numbers.
  • The odd numbers are the numbers ending with 3,5,7,9,11 ....etc. For example : 25 , 32, 38, 87, 95, 64, 76, 53.
  •  A ratio indicates how many times one number contains another.
  • A number that is divisible by only itself is known as prime number.
  • A composite number is a positive integer. which is not prime (that is ,which has factors other than 1 and itself)
  • The positive integer or a whole number 1,2,3 and 0 as well is known as natural number.
