Answer:

a) Our body can work within the pH of 6 –7.

Antacids are the base which neutralize the effect of acid in our stomach. One antacids is milk of magnesia.

b) When the milk changes to curd it's pH comes down to 5. It is because curd is acidic in nature and acid lies down the 7 in pH scale.

c) When milk is slightly alkaline, milkman adds small amount of baking soda to balance the milk pH and hence, this milk takes a longer time to set as curd.

d)Toothpastes are alkaline in nature. The bacteria creates acidic medium in our mouth and hence toothpaste neutralises the acid and doesn't allow tooth decay to occur.

Bacteria in your mouth break down the carbohydrates that we consume( simply food), releasing lactic acid. Which is acidic in nature and causes our mouth pH to set down.
