=====================

Types of lysosomes-

1.primary lysosome-

these Lysosome store enzyme (acid hydrolases) in the inactive form.these are newly formed lysosome.

2.Heterophagosome-

these lysosome formed by the fusion of primary lysosome and phagosome.

these are secondary lysosome.

3.Residual bodies-

lysosome containing undigested material are called residual bodies.these may be eliminated by Exocytosis.

4.- Autophagic lysosome-

lysosome containing cell organelle to be digested are known as autophagosome.

\underline{Lysosome}

Lysosomes are formed from the concave face of Golgi apparatus. These are tiny, single membrane-bound, sac-like organelle and contain various digestive enzymes. It shows polymorphism at different metabolic states of the cell.

The types of lysosomes are:-

•Primary lysosomes:- They are newly pinched off vesicles from the Golgi apparatus which generally fuse with some endosomes to become fully functional.

•Secondary lysosomes:-They are also called heterophagosomes or digestive vacuoles. A secondary lysosome is formed by the fusion of food containing phagosome with lysosome. Digestion occurs. The digested food passes out into the cytoplasm. Finally, the secondary lysosome is left with undigested food.

•Residual lysosomes:- They are those lysosomes in which only indigestible food materials have been left.

•Autophagic Vacuoles (Auto-phagosomes, Auto-lysosomes):-They are produced by the fusion of a number of primary lysosomes around worn out or degenerate intracellular organelles.

\boxed{Functions:-}

•In case of damaged or aged cells, the lysosomal vesicles burst to release enzymes, that digest the cell itself. Due to this, lysosomes are called suicidal bags.

•Lysosomes release enzymes to digest the stored food inside a cell.

Hope this helps!❤
