A natural fuel formed deep under the earth from the prehistoric remains of living organisms like plants and animals is called fossil fuels call petroleum and natural gas are fossil fuels fossil fuels are the major sources of energy for generating the electricity in the power plant .

HOW WERE THEY FØRMED :- The plants and the animals which died millions of the years ago was gradually buried deep in the earth and got covered with the sediment like mud and sand away from the reach of oxygen of air in the absence of oxygen the chemical effects of the pressure of heat and bacteria converted the body remains of the plants and animals into the fossil fuels like coal petroleum and natural gas the bird remains of large plant were converted into coal where those of a small plants and animals were converted into petroleum and the natural gas .
