On the western margins of the continents mostly in temperate region of the both hemisphere these forests are found. There is moderate rainfall in this area during the summer months. The trees of forests are characterized with board leaves, long roots and thick barks. Without shedding their leaves these trees can withstand in dry summer. Oaks, olives, figs, cedars and cypresses are main trees found in these forests. Some of the products for these forests are nuts, olives, citrus fruits and cork.
