1) Why dark rooms are provided with infrared lamps for photography ?

2)Rock salt prism is used instead of glass prisn to obtained infrared spectrum? Why?

1. Infrared lamps are used because they do not affect photographic film and spoil them as ordinary light would do. They, however, affect a specially treated photographic film.

2.As these infrared spectrum are absorbed by the glass prism that is why rock salt is used instead of glass prism

OR

The infrared spectrum is absorbed by glass prism and therefore, we cannot see the infrared spectrum through a glass prism. Whereas, a rock salt prism doesn't absorb these infrared spectrum and we could see the infrared spectrum through it.
