♥ In the year 1940's the life in the village rameshwaram used to be peaceful and simple. From the account of abdulkalam we gather that the people were not much rich.

Sometimes religious based segregation existed but the people overthere lived in a peaceful manner with everyone. Yet there were people who did not like different social groups to intermingle

The people of the town might have been hard working as the author mentions how his cousin used to collect bundles of newspapers for distribution.Kalam's family arranged for boats for the visiting piligrims ♥
