Solution 1 :-

Firstly about d - block elements

  • d - block elements have poor shielding effect .
  • d - block elements are also known as transition elements or metals.
  • The valence electrons of d - block elements must fall in d - orbital.
  • Due to effective nuclear charge the size of d - block elements contracts and the size of the atomic radii is less.
  • In d - block elements most of are metals so , they have metallic radii
  • d - block elements have more ionisation energy.

In the given information read the 4th point . Since, effective nuclear charge the atomic radii is less than s & p - block elements . So , option A is incorrect

Hence , option A is your answer.

Answer:

A) Have atomic radii larger than s and p-block elements.

2) The atomic number uniquely identifies a chemical element. It is identical to the charge number of the nucleus. In an uncharged atom, the atomic number is also equal to the number of electrons. The sum of the atomic number Z and the number of neutrons N gives the mass number A of an atom.
