<i><b><u>ANSWER----------》

Astronauts in space can grow up to 3 percent taller during the time spent living in microgravity, NASA scientists say. That means that a 6-foot-tall (1.8 meters) person could gain as many as 2 inches (5 centimeters) while in orbit. As soon as they come back to Earth, though, they return to their normal height. What happens in space is not an optical illusion, but one more example of how microgravity affects our bodies.

The scientists of NASA researched about this and what they found was that the vertebrates of the spine elongated due to microgravity which resulted in an increase in the height of the astronauts in space..Our spine is like a spring which stretch in space due to microgravity and becomes normal when the gravity is increased. The increase in the height is only due to the elongation of spine,it does not causes much effect on the length of our legs or arms. The natural curve of the spine is straightened somewhat in space. Without the usual force of gravity pushing down on it, the spine is freer to relax.
