In general pressure is the force per unit area acting on a surface something is pulled or pushed by exerting force. Objects exert a force on one another when they are in contact the effect of the force depend on the area of contact between them. The value of force acting over every unit area is called pressure

Regarding gas, pressure is a stress categorised by its uniformity in all directions and usually produces a decrease in volume the pressure at any depth inside a liquid is exerted equally in all directions.

Atmospheric pressure

Air has weight and at ground level of earth the weight of every litre air is about 1.3 gram. Atmospheric air extends 200 km loses weight as it goes up at a height of 2 kilometre above the ground a letter of their tweets about 1 gram even beyond hundred kilometre there is thin air which weights much less every object on the ground is praised by a column of air this is known as atmospheric pressure.

Every square cm of an object supports the weight of roughly one kg of the air above the atmospheric pressure is exerted equally in all directions in an Empty can the air pressure exerted from outside of can is balanced by pressure of air accepted from inside the canned as both these pressures are equal and opposite the pressure remains unaffected on the can we do not feel the pressure of air this is because the pressure of liquid of cell and their present inside body balance the pressure of air exerted on us.
