Hola

(a) Carbon forms covalent compounds, i.e., it shares electrons. Covalent compounds usually do not have any free ions and it also doesn't form ions (in most cases). Therefore, most carbon compounds are poor conductors of electricity

(b) In organic chemistry, a saturated compound is one which has all single bonds in between the carbon-carbon atoms. Most of the saturated hydrocarbons are alkanes. So, the structures in which the carbon atoms are arranged in a ring are called as "cycloalkanes", with a general formula of CnH₂n

example :

(pic attached)

Name : Cyclopentane

No. of bonds : 15 covalent bonds

No. of bonds and name depends on no. of carbon and hydrogen atoms and on the nature of their bonding.

(1) They generally forms covalent compounds. Carbon never forms ionic compounds so as

Tetravalent - four valency in their outermost shell

Catenation - self linking property and forming long carboxylic chain

So they are not eligible for conducting electricity as they doesn't contain ions.

(2) cyclo alkane

Cyclo Propane
