A square of a side 40m has the same perimeter as that of rectangle of length 45m. Which one will have a larger area ?

\huge{\bf{\green{\fcolorbox{yellow}{black}{\underline{\color{yellow}{Answer}}}}}}

Perimeter of Square = 4 × a = 4 × 40 = 160m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) = Perimeter of square

2(45 + breadth) = 160

45 + b = 80

b = 80 - 45

b = 35m

Area of square = a × a = 40 × 40 = 1600m²

Area of rectangle = l × b = 45 × 35 = 1575m²

Square has Larger Area...

\longrightarrow

  • Area of square = 1600 m²
  • Area of rectangle = 1575 m²

Hence , Square has larger area then rectangle.
