(a) Dry ice can produce much lower temperatures than that produced by ordinary ice hence it is much more effective for cooling purposes than ordinary ice.

ADVANTAGES:

1. It is useful for preserving frozen foods where mechanical cooling is unavailable.

2. It has lower temperature as compared to ice.

DISADVANTAGES:

1 If you touch dry ice momentarily without protective gear, it can cause redness to the affected skin.
