It is blue-green in colour. On heating it loses water of crystallization and forms a dirty yellow solid. when it is heated further, sulphur dioxide is released and sulphur trioxide and leaves a reddish brown residue which is iron(III) oxide. 2. This type of reaction is called decomposition reaction.
