Following characteristic feature of a circuit used in residential building :

(a) Two separate Circuit should be used, one of 5 A current rating of electrical appliances like bulbs, tubes, fans , etc., and another of 5 ampere current rating for appliances like geysers, refrigerators, etc.

(b) All points (appliances) must be join in parallel only .

(c) Switch must be provided in the live only and separat switch should be used for each appliance.

(d) Fuse of appropriate current rating should be put before appliance in the live wire.

(e) proper earthing should be ensured.
