A lever of class 3 has a mechanical advantage which is less than one because here, effort arm is are the shorter than the load arm .

By the use of a Class 3 lever, a load can be move through a long distance even though the effort moves a small distance.

Example of class 3 : Fire tongs , sugar tones , a knife , a fishing rod , etc.
