QUESTION -

What is the volume of \sf\orange{ H_{2}} at STP is required to reduce 0.795 g of \sf\pink{ CuO} to give \sf\purple{ Cu} and \sf\green{ H_{2}O} ?

SOLUTION -

GIVEN -

Mass of CuO , Cu = 0.795 g

Now ,

CuO + \sf{ H_{2}} ----> Cu (S) + \sf</p><p>{ H_{2}}

79.5 g ------------ 22.4 lit

0.795 g ----------- ? ( x )

Now ,

 \tt\dfrac{x}{22.4 \: lit}  =  \dfrac{0.795 \: g}{79.5 \: g}

 \tt x =  \dfrac{0.795 \times 22.4 \: lit}{79.5}

→ 0.224 lit

→ 224 ml

HENCE -

Volume of \sf { H_{2}O} required = 224 ml
