1. The passing on of the traits from the parents to the offspring is called heredity.

2.DNA replication is a process by which the cells of an organism make additional copies of DNA.

3. Thes additional copies of DNA can be transferred to the offspring which carries the genes of characters of both the parents (father and mother).

4. Thus, DNA copying is an essential part of reproduction.
