As we know that the Pressure(proportional) α Force over area , That means when the Area is more the Force applied will be less while when area is less the the force applied will be more .

So the load carrying heavy vehicles have large number of wheels so that the cross section on decreases and the force is distributed over more area and thus decreasing the pressure on the wheels of heavy load carrying vehicles .

And therefore larger number of wheels are present in heavy load carrying vehicles .
