Question :-

→ An aquarium is in the form of a cuboid whose external measures are 80 cm x 30 cm x 40 cm. The base, side faces and back face are to be covered with a colored paper. Find the area of the paper needed ?

Given :-

→ Dimensions of the aquarium

 80 cm

 30 cm

 40 cm

To Find :-

→  The area of the paper needed to cover the base , side faces and back face of the aquarium .

Solution :-

\sf Area\;of\;paper\;required\;=\;\\\\Area\;of\;base\;+\;2(area\;of\;side)\;+\; area\;of\;back\\\\

\sf = (80 \times 30) + 2(30 \times 40 )+ (80 \times 40 )\\\\= 2400 + 2400 + 3200 \\\\= 8000\; cm^{2}

The area of paper needed is 8000 cm²

Question :-

An aquarium is in the form of a cuboid whose external measures are 80 cm x 30 cm x 40 cm. The base, side faces and back face are to be covered with a coloured paper. Find the area of the paper needed?

Answer :-

The area total the acquarium = 2(ab+ah+bh)

= 2(80 × 30 +80 × 40 + 30 × 40)

= 2 × (2400 + 3200 + 1200)

= 2 × 6800

= 136000 cm²

The area of front face = a×h

= 80 × 40

= 3200 cm²

The area of the top = a×b

= 80 × 30

= 2400 cm²

The area of paper needed = Area total the acquarium - (Area of front face + Area of the top)

= 136000 - (3200+2400)

= 136000 - 5600

= 8000 cm²

Therefore, the area of the paper needed is 8000 cm².
