Difference between Periodic, Oscillation and Simple Harmonic Motion.
Answers
Answer:
Periodic Motion :
A motion that repeats itself again and again at regular intervals of time is called a periodic motion.
Oscillation Motion :
All oscillatory motions are periodic motions but all periodic motions are not oscillatory.
For example, the motion of the moon around the earth is periodic but not oscillatory.
Simple Harmonic Motion:
A particle is said to execute simple harmonic motion if it’s acceleration is directly proportional to its displacement from the equilibrium position and is always directed towards the equilibrium position. Simple harmonic motion is a straight line motion and it requires a restoring force.
Answer:
Hey!
Every motion can either be Periodic or Non- Periodic
•periodic motion is a type of motion which repeats itself after every fixed interval of time.
•Simple Harmonic is a type of periodic motion which remains same over time.
•Oscillation is a type of vibrational motion which can either be Periodic or Not. In an oscillation the body too moves to and fro about a fixed point.
•Non- Harmonic motion is a type of oscillation which does not remain same overtime.
