Step-by-step explanation :

\bigstar\;\textbf{\underline{\underline{Method -}}}

Given,

0.18 (5x - 4) = 0.5x + 0.8

To Find :

The value of 'x'

Solution :

Just simplifying :

⇒ 0.18 (5x - 4) + 0.5x + 0.8

⇒ 0.9x - 0.72 = 0.8x + 0.72

⇒ 0.4x = 1.52.

∴ x = \sf \dfrac{1.52}{0.4} = \dfrac{152\times10}{4\times100} = \dfrac{38}{10} = 3.8

Hence, The value of x = 3.8.

Answer:

0.18\left(5x-4\right)=0.5x+0.8\quad :\quad x=\dfrac{19}{5}\quad \left(\mathrm{Decimal}:\quad x=3.8\right)

Step-by-step explanation:

0.18\left(5x-4\right)=0.5x+0.8

\gray{\mathrm{Multiply\:both\:sides\:by\:}100}

0.18\left(5x-4\right)\cdot \:100=0.5x\cdot \:100+0.8\cdot \:100

\gray{\mathrm{Refine}}

18\left(5x-4\right)=50x+80

\gray{\mathrm{Expand\:}18\left(5x-4\right):\quad 90x-72}

90x-72=50x+80

\gray{\mathrm{Add\:}72\mathrm{\:to\:both\:sides}}

90x-72+72=50x+80+72

\gray{\mathrm{Simplify}}

90x=50x+152

\gray{\mathrm{Subtract\:}50x\mathrm{\:from\:both\:sides}}

90x-50x=50x+152-50x

\gray{\mathrm{Simplify}}

40x=152

\gray{\mathrm{Divide\:both\:sides\:by\:}40}

\dfrac{40x}{40}=\dfrac{152}{40}

\gray{\mathrm{Simplify}}

x=\dfrac{19}{5}
