❥ Explain why in the loop of Henle, the glomerular filtrate gets concentrated in the descending limbs and diluted in the ascending limbs.

Required Answers:

a) The composition of glomerular filtrate is not the same as urine because glomerular filtrate has the large amount of water, uric acid, urea, amino acids and some other substances dissolved in water.

b) The remedial measure advised for the correction of acute renal failure is kidney transplantation. It is advised because dialysis is not a permanent kidney and is a artificial kidney which have some exceptions.

c) In the loop of Henle, the glomerular filtrate gets concentrated (hypertonic) in the descending limbs and diluted (hypotonic) in the ascending limbs because descending loop of Henle is permeable to water but is impermeable to electrolytes.

d) Tubular secretion in responsible for maintaining acid-base and ionic balance in the body ffluid because PCT maintains the acid-base balance. DCT maintains pH balance in the fluids. Collecting tubules are responsible to maintain ions balance.
