on \: squaring \: both \: sides \\   {(1 +  \frac{1}{x} )}^{2}  = 25

 { (\frac{1}{x}) }^{2}  +  {x}^{2}  + x \times  \frac{1}{x} × 2= 25

 \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  +  {x}^{2}  + 2 = 25

 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 23
