☯️Here is some questions for u:-(it's very easy) ☯️

<b>The sum of two numbers is 8. Determine the numbers if the sum of their reciprocals is 8/15.

<b>The line segment joining the points A(3,2) B(5,1) is divided at the point P in the ratio 1 : 2 and P lies on the line 3x - 18y + k = 0. Find the value of k.

❌NOTE:- IF U KNOW THE ANSWERS OF BOTH ONLY THEN ANSWER OTHERWISE DON'T.......❌

Heya...!!!!

Solution....✍️

Let one no. be x the other no be y.

Given : X + y = 8

X = 8 - y ........... (1)

1/X+1 / y = 8/15

From,(1) we get

8/8y - {y}^{2} = 8/15

{y}^{2} - 8y+15 = 0

(y-3) (y+5) = 0

y = 3 or 5

We know that,

X + y=8

When y = 5 , X = 3

When y = 3 , X = 5

Thus the Two no. are 3 and 5.

==========================

Given that point P divides the line segment joining the points A(3,2) and B(5,1) in the ratio 1:2

Hence the coordinates of P is given by the section formula as given below

(  {mx}^{2}  {nx}^{2}  )\\  (\sqrt{m + n} )

( {my}^{2}  {ny}^{2}  )\\  \ ( \sqrt{m + n} )

Here m:n = 1: 2,

and Given that point P lies on the line 3x – 18y + k = 0

Put the coordinates of P in the given line ⇒ 3(11/3) – 18(5/3) + k = 0

⇒ 11 – 30 + k = 0

⇒ k – 19 = 0 ∴ k = 19
