Answer:

  • Principal = Rs. 4000
  • Rate = 15% per annum
  • Time for Rohit = 3½ years
  • Time for Sunil = 5 years

Here Principal and Rate are same for Both, so Time will effect the Interest only.

Means we can say Sunil will pay more Interest and that is for time (5 - 3½) years = 1½ years

\underline{\bigstar\:\textsf{According to the given Question :}}

:\implies\sf Difference=Sunil-Rohit\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference=\dfrac{Pr \times t_1}{100}-\dfrac{Pr \times t_2}{100}\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference = \dfrac{Pr}{100} \times\bigg\lgroup t_1 - t_2\bigg\rgroup\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference = \dfrac{4000 \times 15}{100} \times\bigg\lgroup 5 - 3{}^{1}\!/{}_{2}\bigg\rgroup\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference = 40 \times 15 \times 1{}^{1}\!/{}_{2}\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference = 40 \times 15 \times \dfrac{3}{2}\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference = 20 \times 15 \times3\\\\\\:\implies\sf Difference = Rs. \:900

\therefore\:\underline{\textsf{Difference in interest paid is \textbf{Rs. 900}}}.
