by heron's formula,

Area of the triangle =s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)

We know, s = 3+4+5

= 6

∴ Area of triangle =6(6−3)(6−4)(6−5)

                              =6×3×2×1

=6cm2

Given

  • AB = 4 in, BC = 3 in, AC = 5 in (let)

To find:

  • Area of the triangle ABC.

Using Heron's Formula,

A = √(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

As, s = (a+b+c)/2

s = (4+3+5)/2

s = 6 units

Putting the values,

A = √(6(6-4)(6-3)(6-5))

⇒ A = √(6(2)(3)(1))

⇒ A = √(36) = 6 in2

∴ The area of the triangle is 6 in²
