Saprotrophic bacteria and fungi are examples of decomposers . They break down the organic matter of tertiary consumers and release nutrients ,to the soil to be used by producers (green plants) again.

Saprotrophic means the organisms which Lives-in both the living organisms,and dead remains of plants and animals.
