Explanation:

1) The diverse functions of the plasma membrane are possible due to adpation of proteins to from channels, enzymes, carriers, receptors and their attachment to small carbohydrates (oligosaccharides). Like proteins, every human being has to perform differenf functions in the human society.

2) A centrosome comprises two microtubule rings known as centrioles. Its main function is to organize the microtubules and provide a structure to the cell. It also pulls the chromatids apart during cell division.

✦Functions of plasma membrane:-

• It is living, thin, elastic and selectively permeable. It is made up of lipid bilayer.
• In plant cell the plasma membrane is present between the cytoplasm and in animals it forms the boundary of the cytoplasm.
• Cell membrane is made up of lipids arranged in bilayer.
• It acts as a mechanical barrier and protect the inner cell contents from external environment.
• It is selectively permeable in nature.

✦How is it able to give diverse functions:-

• The cell membrane is able to perform many functions due to its characteristics.
• It is flexible but strong.
• The membrane proteins are important for transporting substances.
• It also serve as an enzyme.

✦Example can be of Cell membrane/Plasma membrane or proteins.

✦Centrosome:- It is a small structure situated close to the nucleus only in animal cell.

✦Centrioles:- Centrioles are repair of small granules present in centrosome. All centrioles are made up of protein strands called microtubules.

✦Function:-

• During During cell division the centrioles developer number of radiating threads or rays. The whole structure (centriole and rays) is then called an aster.
