Given -

  • Slant height of cone is 10 cm

  • Base radius of cone is 7 cm

To Find -

  • Curved surface area

Formula used -

  • Curved surface area of cone

Solution -

In the question, we are provided with the slant height and base radius of a right circular cone and we need to find the curved surface area of the cone, for that we will apply the formula for curved surface area of right circular cone place the values and solve the question.

So -

→ Slant height = 10 cm

→ Base radius = 7 cm

Curved surface area -

→ πrl

Where -

→ π = 22/7

→ r = radius

→ l = slant height

On substituting the values -

→ CSA = πrl

→ CSA = 22/7 × 7 × 10 cm

[Now 7 will get cancelled with 7]

→ CSA = 22 × 10 cm

→ CSA = 220 cm²

Therefore, the curved surface area of cone is 220 cm²

2 more formulae of cone -

  • Total surface area = πr(r + l)

  • Volume = 1/3πr²h

Curved surface area =  \sf{πrl}

= \large \sf \frac{22}{7} × 7 × 10cm²

= 220cm²

 \\

✓ Hence, curved surface area of the right circular cone will be 220cm².
