Situation: In today's Maths class, your friend didn't complete her homework. So she would have said about that to the teacher. And now, you want to say about that to your brother. How will you say?

My friend said to the teacher, "I haven't completed my homework".

• Direct speech – Saying something directly to someone which he/she had said without changing the person's words.

★And the second way of saying is called as indirect speech.

• Indirect speech – Saying something which was already said, but saying it with some modifications what he/she had said.
