Diwali is the time for celebration .It is a time to meet and greet our friends and relatives.

There is love and joy all around.However,amid all this we forget that we are harming our mother nature
By burning crackers in the name of celebration .

The pollution level in our country rises manifolds during and after the diwali celebration.

Million of crackers burn throughout the year .

Air pollution level rises extremely heigh during the diwali festival.

The smoke emitted by burning fire crackers makes the air harmful to breathe.

$\textbf{Diwali is the most important of}$
$\textbf{Hindu festivals.}$ It is celebrated with great enthusiasm through out the length and breadth of India. It is celebrated on the $\textbf{New Moon day}$ in the month of Kartik (October - November).

The historical story behind the Diwali is the victory of $\textbf{Lord Rama}$ over the wicked (black hearted) $\textbf{King Ravana.}$ It symbolizes the $\textbf{victory of good over evil.}$

Diwali brings with it a message of new hope, new enthusiasm and new ideals.... Houses and shopes are thoroughly cleaned and white washed. In the evening each house has it's so of lamps decorating the balconies, window sills etc.

$\textbf{Fireworks and bursting crackers}$ are a part of the celebration. The night is lit up with the light of millions of Fireworks lightning up at the same time and din fro. these almost makes the ear drums burst. The air is filled with the smell of smoke from these, which cause numerous health problems. Disesaes like asthma, irritation in eyes (eyes becomes red) etc. start spreading in people during the time of Diwali.

Burning of crackers also cause $\textbf{Land Pollution.}$ Because burnt pieces of crackers cannot be decomposed by soil as they are non- biodegradable. Due to this their addition to the soil cause land Pollution.

Their burning also cause $\textbf{Noise Pollution.}$ Yet again, the careless handling of Fireworks too leads to mishaps. This too creates unhappiness.

So, we have to avoid $\textbf{burning of crackers.}$ As they are harmful for both us and environment. Also, we have to inspire the people around us to refrain themselves from buying crackers. As, $\textbf{Pollution free Diwali can be}$
