❥ Water gas shift reaction is defined as the reaction between carbon monoxide and water vapor to form carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The mixture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen is known as water gas. This reaction is more catalyzed on iron catalysts and merely catalyzed by cobalt catalysts.
