From an Internet user's point-of-view, downloading is receiving a file from another computer.

You can directly connect two computers with a USB cable. you have to make sure you get a special USB cable that has this in on both sides. so you can plug it into the front or the back of each computer. so you plug one into computer one and the other end goes into computer 2.

Use an external hard drive to transfer your data.
