Why acids are sour in taste?

Acidic foods are believed sour in taste cuz of the Hydrogen ion concentration. Acids increase the hydrogen ion concentration, which provides more ions to the tongue which results the sour taste receptors detect dissolved hydrogen ions.

Hope it helps úh
