ELASTIC COLLISION

  • Collisions in which both momentum and kinetic energy of the system are conserved are called elastic collisions.

INELASTIC COLLISION

  • Collisions in which the momentum of the system is conserved but the kinetic energy is not conserved are called inelastic collisions.
