p(1) = 2( {1}^{2} ) + k(1) +  \sqrt{2}  = 0 \\ 2(2) + k +  \sqrt{2}  = 0 \\ 4 + k +  \sqrt{2}  = 0 \\ k \:  =  - 4 ± \ \sqrt{2}
