SOLUTION :

This statement π is an irrational number is TRUE.

Because the value of π is 3.14159265358979323……. and we cannot write the value of Pi (π) in the form p/q.

Hence, π is an irrational number.

★★RATIONAL NUMBERS : A number that can be expressed in the form p/q,  where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0 is called rational number.

★★IRRATIONAL NUMBERS :

A number that cannot be expressed in the form p/q,  where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0 is called irrational number.

Answer:

π is an Irrational number.

Step-by-step explanation:

Rational number: Any number which can be expressed in the form of p/q. {Where q ≠ 0} is considered as rational number.

Ex: 4 is a rational number because it can be written as 4/1.

Irrational number: Any number that can be written as a decimal, but not as a fraction is considered as irrational number.

Ex: π is a irrational number because the value is 3.142
