when the gold is sent for polishing the Goldsmith uses certain liquid to clean it that liquid is a mixture of hydrochloric acid and aqua ragia ..
when gold is dipped in aqua ragia it's dull outside layer is dissolved in aqua ragia and the inner shiny surface is appeared , due to this some gold is lost ....
