why we celebrate teachers day?

We celebrate teachers day 5th september. This is even celebrated on the memory of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan sir 5 September 1888.This event is celebrated since 1962.

This is celebrated because of the birthday of Radhakrishnan sir. Because of his teaching, respect toward others. He is a famous techer. He is a well known scholar too. On this day students will give some gifts, letters, greetings for teachers. They teach us many things. They will even thank teachers too.

There is even a proverb on teachers that is "Acharya devo bhava"
