have seen birds sitting on electric wires, without getting any electric shock. While if we even touch a wire, we get a bad shock. Why don't they get a shock then?

if we touch only one point then we will also not get shock but when we touch both points - as well as + we will get drastic shock
we see sometimes birds gets shock due to both touch - and + that's why they dies.
the another answer is wrong plz prefer this one you can search on net

Answer:
Birds can sit on power lines and not get electric shocks because the electricity is always looking for a way to get to the ground. The birds are not touching the ground or anything in contact with the ground, so the electricity will stay in the power line.
